Croûtons

This is probably the easiest recipe ever, but you'll end up with some deliciously goldenbrown croutons to spice up your bowl of soup, or sprinkle on top of your salad..

You'll need
  • bread (old bread is best) doesn't matter if it's white or brown or wholegrain..
  • butter (optional)
  • cooking oil (olive oil)
To make your old breadloaf into crunchy croutons =>
  1. Cut of the crust, leaving only the soft inside of the bread
  2. Put a pan on a medium heat and add a spoonful of oil and/or butter (don't be too stingy with it)
  3. Cut the inside of the bread into squares (triangles and cirkles work just as well :D)
  4. Once the pan is hot, put in the bread and make sure every piece is lying flat, so as to give maximum browning-abbility.
  5. Flip them over after about 20 to 30 seconds (or until they're nice and golden) and bake for another 20 to 30 seconds. Don't lose them out of your sight because these babies can turn from goldenbrown to burned black in a second!!
  6. Place them on a bit of kitchen paper to absorb any excess fat and you're good to go..
